About CDR Group
CDR Group has been established in the Peak District National Park since 1983. In the late 1980's the company partnered with the Ordnance Survey to enable digital mapping data on desktop PCs. Ancillary services offered by CDR Group include digitising various local authority and utility company maps. This includes scanning (rasterising) large format A0+ drawings. Other complimentary services include the promotion of GIS (Geographical Information Systems).
In 2013 CDR Group visited Sheffield Archives and agreed to scan all their commonly used paper plans. The result is that the public can gain access to these maps without having to visit the Sheffield Archive Office, and that the original maps can be safely archived and preserved without constant handling.
